Jerry Jones on Tuesday second guessed Jason Garrett’s play calling in the second half of Sunday’s 34-30 loss to Detroit, saying he wished the Cowboys had kept the ball on the ground more after grabbing a 24-point advantage in the third quarter.

The Dallas Morning News’ web site quoted Jones as telling KRLD-FM, “you probably do get more conservative in that situation.”

Jones’ comments came one day after Garrett said basically the same thing.

But instead of playing it safe and trying to run the clock, Garrett called for 12 passes and 11 runs. Each of Tony Romo’s three interceptions came in down-and-distance situations that usually call for runs. The Lions converted each of their takeaways into touchdowns as the Cowboys suffered the worst collapse in club history.
